Life in a Northern Town

One of the things I enjoy about living in a Very Small Town, is we can do things you can't in a big city. Like last night, which just happened to be one of the nicest evenings we've had yet this spring (finally!). We lit our first fire of the season in our outdoor pit, and sat around with CollegeBoy who is home for the summer, and just generally enjoyed the warm sunshine, the evening birds singing and the conversation. High School Boy even graced us with his presence for a little bit. Then, as the evening light turned dusky and the coals were just right, we roasted wienies for a late snack and went inside to enjoy a movie. Life doesn't get much better than that. * o

I agree! Since finally pulling up stakes in the burbs and relocating to the Texas Hill Country, I find myself constantly saying "It just doesn't get any better than this!" The only thing better than making S'mores at the fire pit, or maybe having a hot tub party with my girl friends, overlooking the creek, is probably The Corral Theatre. Everyone in town goes to watch first run movies, which always start at "dark-thirty", in a converted horse corral with metal lawn chairs from the 50's, surrounded by twinkling stars and fireflies. What a blast!

The theatre sounds awesome and fun - reminds me of camping in some provincial parks when I was kid. They had these outdoor theatres with bench seats and a little movie they'd show when it got dark enough!
